And sadly, it doesn’t sound like it was her choice.
We heard that Ann Curry was leaving her position as Matt Lauer‘s co-anchor on The Today Show, but now sources are suggesting she actually got the boot!
NBC has been looking for a replacement for at least two weeks and even offered a nice, big contract to former Today anchor Meredith Vieira.
Unfortunately, she’s not innerested in returning to the show she left behind for bigger, better things, while Lauer reportedly isn’t innerested in continuing to work with Curry. On top of decreasing ratings as a reason for her removal, Lauer and the network weren’t fans of her performance.
Aww! We thought she was doing just fine, but our opinion doesn’t really matter and she’ll be gone by the start of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Since Vieira has passed on the job, we hear that the frontrunner is co-host of the third hour of Today, Savannah Guthrie.
Hopefully she doesn’t get promoted only to be fired too…
