Obama Skips Jared Leto fundraiser
Barack Obama has made time for several Hollywood heavyweights during his campaign, but can’t squeeze in the town’s latest fundraiser organized by Jared Leto.
Instead of attending this Friday’s Gen44 fundraiser at SoHo House, the White House will send three representatives in place of the Prez — campaign Chief Technology Officer Harper Reed, Battleground States director Mitch Stewart and director of Opinion Research David Simas.
We’re sure all of the stars in attendance will be a little disappointed that they won’t be schmoozing with the most powerful man in the United States, but at least he’s considering sending a video message.
George Clooney‘s record-setting fundraiser cost $40,000 a plate, while this soiree will only cost the public $500 a ticket and cost Host Committee members $2,500.
Guess the old saying is true — you get what you pay for. Ha!
