Eric Dane and his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, are furious with their El Lay neighbor Billy Corgan because one of the Smashing Pumpkins‘ trees smashed right through their roof.

The incident in question happened last fall and thankfully, no one was hurt. However, the lawsuit charges that the rock star essentially put their entire family in jeopardy by failing to remove eucalyptus trees on his property that were a known risk.
Corgan, on the other hand, has called the accusations “patently untrue” and is maintaining his innocence. Instead of accepting any responsibility, he cites the severe wind storm as the catalyst for the destruction and explained:
“I was horrified when I learned about the tree falling during what was a massive storm, a storm with winds strong enough to uproot a 50 ft tree by its base! Thankfully no one was injured.”
Following the natural disaster, Corgan says he called in an expert to remove any other trees on his property that could pose as a safety threat.
That didn’t stop McSteamy from getting steaming mad and now he wants unspecified damages for nuisance, negligence, and injunctive relief.
