Voters are lining up outside polling stations all over the United States of America today, but last night, Barack Obama‘s supporters in Des Moines, Iowa stood outside in the cold to cheer him on during one final campaign rally.
Before the President and his wife, Michelle Obama, spoke in front of the audience, Bruce Springsteen played a few songs for the audience.
As a longtime supporter of the Prez, the Boss has practically become BFF’s with him over the years.
Now that Hurricane Sandy has created some kind of bond between Obama and New Jersey governor Chris Christie, the musician may finally get friendly with the Republican governor of his home state too.
The two have never had the pleasure of meeting until Obama passed the phone over to Springsteen while flying aboard Air Force One. On the other end of the line was Christie, who couldn’t have been happier to talk to one his idols and explained:
“In times of real difficulty, he thought the only thing better than one Jersey guy was two Jersey guys, and he put Bruce Springsteen on the phone. Bruce said to me how proud he was of his state. How proud he was and how tough we are. It was a good conversation today, and it was great to talk to the president├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥and even better to talk to Bruce.”
So Bruce is still the better man in Christie’s eyes, but we’re glad the Republican and Democrat are finally playing nice.
If only every other politician could do the same, then maybe we’d have some real hope and change to look forward to.
