Paris’ Museam of Decorative Arts was planning to open a Kate Moss exhibit in November 2009, with photographs of the supermodel from the past twenty years. However, due to lack of funding, the opening has been pushed to 2011, in hopes of garnering some financial backing before then.
Apparently, the smallish museum funds their own small exhibitions but depends on external private funding for fashion oriented and/or large exhibits.
What’s surprising is that Moss, who Forbes named the highest-paid model, is organizing the exhibit, so you’d think she’d be more than able to throw money at the problem, and more than willing to save herself the embarrassment of delaying the opening.
For whatever reason, though, the plan seems to be to continue to seek outside funding and hope it comes together before 2011.
This exhibit better be kick ass to redeem itself! Though we doubt it will.
