Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci has announced that the fashion house will no longer be showing off their couture creations on the runway.
In an effort to cut co$$$t, Givenchy will now be showing their high fashion pieces by appointment only. Tisci explains:
“I want to make couture even more special than it is, and not just another catwalk show. People can really experience the couture moment: See it, touch it.”
Not a bad idea, seeing as private appointments will cost them 35% less than putting on a runway show.
The designer also revealed he will not be using ANY black in the next collection. “It’s the first time I’m not doing any black. It’s a challenge for me to do no black, and I like a challenge.”
Inneresting.
