Preteens Are Getting Bikini Waxes!?

Blame the Kardashians!
According to several salon owners, more and more kids under the age of 12 are coming in and getting waxed — and that includes bikini waxes.
Melanie Engle, an esthetician in Philadelphia, says one of her clients requested a bikini wax for her 8 year old daughter. 8. YEARS. OLD!!!
That’s too young!
Engle adds that 12 years old has become the “new normal” to start waxing.
Nance Mitchell, a salon owner in Beverly Hills, adds that 20% of her clients that come in for bikini waxes are tweens. Nance adds:

“The increase began a couple of years ago. Some kids come in with their mothers when the mothers are getting waxed, so they want to do it too. One 10-year-old had thick hair coming down her leg, and she had a bikini and leg wax because she couldn├óΓé¼Γäót go to camp like that without getting teased.”

But wait, it gets creepier!
Wanda├óΓé¼Γäós European Skin Care Center in New York City gives discounts for waxing “virgin hair”. The salon advertises the procedure on their website, saying:

“Virgin hair can be waxed so successfully that growth can be permanently stopped in just 2 to 6 sessions. Save your child a lifetime of waxing… and put the money in the bank for her college education instead!”

So wrong!
