Viagra Commercials May Be Bad For Kids Health
Well, not really, but the Parent Television Council (PTC) is making an extra effort to make sure parents know that Viagra commercials will be showing during CBS’s 60 Minutes, The Mentalist, and The Late Show With David Letterman.
The PTC announced today that they are working with Eli Lily & Co., the maker of Cialis, and Pfizer, the maker of Viagra, to publish their commercial broadcast schedule online, so parents can have the opportunity to avoid the commercials if their kids are in the room.
Said PTC President Tim Winter:

├óΓé¼┼ôWe are grateful to Lilly and Pfizer for sharing their broadcast television ad buys with us so we can inform our members and the public about where the ads will air. This is an important first step in addressing the concerns many parents have about advertisements for erectile dysfunction drugs.”

We’re not totally sure that a kid seeing an erectile dysfunction ad will be scarred for life (especially because a lot of those commercials just feature goofy smiling men), but we’re glad they’re taking precautions for those parents who care!
