Jamie Oliver Heading To Australia To Fight Obesity

Jamie Oliver who has already launched his battle against obesity in the United States and Britain, is waging war against the diet-related disease in Australia.

The celebrity chef announced Monday he will be setting up his ├óΓé¼┼ôMinistry of Food├óΓé¼┬¥ in the Queensland town of Ipswich, which will host a food cooking centre providing classes and demonstrations designed to give residents tips on “how to make beautiful, tasty quick meals”, according to Oliver.

The ‘Naked Chef’ known for his passion for creating fresh and simple meals has garnered full support from the town├óΓé¼Γäós mayor Paul Pisasale who feels becoming involved is about leading by example, stating:

├óΓé¼┼ôWe’ve got a situation where we’ve got a community that likes to lead by example, to show the way, to show that we’re prepared to put some actions into our community and let the community know how important health is.”

According to a Sydney University study, diet-related disease was the biggest killer in the country, where two-thirds of men and half of women are estimated to be overweight.

“Ipswich definitely needs our help,” Oliver said. “I can’t wait to get there.”

We definitely praise Jamie for taking the initiative to fight this world wide killer. For more proof that he genuinely cares…there isn’t even a reality show planned! Good luck down under, chef!
