There are two things this town never seems to fall short of. Talent and cougars.
Jane Fonda is one of the many glamorous actresses to embrace her “third act” and not let something so silly as age limit her lifestyle.
At 72 (73 next month), Fonda is busier and more active than ever with a new book, workout DVD’s, two upcoming films, and a renewed outlook on sex intimacy, sharing:
“Now I understand why the sex can be better. Women have less estrogen and more testosterone so we’re a little bit feistier and less afraid to ask for what we want. I prefer the word ‘intimacy.’ Intimacy means opening yourself up. It’s hard to do that if you don’t know who you are, if you’re not standing on your own two feet.”
Ooo! Spicy!
Even with a knee and hip replacement, which used to be synonymous with old geezer, Jane is releasing two workout DVD’s, Jane Fonda: Prime Time Walkout and Jane Fonda: Prime Time Fit & Strong, aimed at adults 50 and up.
She admits her knee isn’t allowing her to run a marathon anytime soon, but she insists there are plenty of other ways to get the exercise she needs like walking or aerobics. She’s also not in it for vanity, saying:
├óΓé¼┼ôWe’re not exercising now to look good. We’re exercising for our health, as opposed to pounding away for hours and hours, trying to look perfect.”
What does Jane credit to her stunningly cougarific good looks?
“It’s good genes and money. When I say ‘money,’ I don’t mean just plastic surgery. I mean getting facials, going to a good hairdresser, being able to afford face creams and gym memberships.”
At least she’s honest.
While everyone may not have the luxury Jane Fonda does, we can all at least follow her example for a more active and healthy lifestyle, even in our 70’s!
