While promoting her role in the new movie All Good Things, actress Kirsten Dunst says her character was a sign of personal change when it started shooting in 2008, explaining:
“Katie [her character] had been torn down, and I know what it’s like to lose yourself, to no longer know the difference between right and wrong.”
She says she was ready to play the character because she “had been living life on the surface, emotionally” and “was feeling really vulnerable”.
The film’s shoot came just after Dunst had completed rehab for depression, insisting it was all mental and had nothing to do with her well-documented party streak.
Maybe the party streak was a product of her depression then?
Either way, the star didn’t seem to think much of her drinking, saying:
“When you’re a single girl in your twenties, yeah, you go out with your friends and sometimes you drink too much. I don’t know anybody else, with any type of job, who doesn’t do that.”
Kirsten, we wish you the best with your troubles and hope, for your sake, that you don’t have any problems with drinking.
We look forward to enjoying your performance in the new film!
