Nearly 900 million children and adults lack access to clean water in the world.
So sad.
That├óΓé¼Γäós why Rihanna is teaming up with UNICEF├óΓé¼Γäós Tap Project to help bring attention to this issue. The project aims to create public awareness of this problem and get people to start taking action to reduce the number of children dying from waterborne illness — the second-highest cause of preventable childhood deaths in the world.
Rihanna├óΓé¼Γäós not the only celebrity involved — Selena Gomez, Adrian Grenier, Dwight Howard, Taylor Swift and Robin Williams are all taking part in the project.
Said Caryl Stern, CEO of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF:

“Celebrity involvement can highlight the value of safe, clean water, which most of us consume every day without thinking twice. It can galvanize the support needed to help children who are forced to gamble with their lives every time they take a drink of water. Every day more than 4,000 children die from water-related diseases. Just one dollar provides 40 days of clean drinking water to a child in need.”

There is so much tragedy in the world right now — if you├óΓé¼Γäóre not backing a cause in some way, get to work! Stopping sitting around and act!
