Meghan Markle is sick of being the breadwinner. While she’s not issuing Prince Harry an ultimatum (yet…), she is laying down the law when it comes to their finances!
Sources for Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice Substack on Saturday revealed the Suits alum has made it clear to her husband that he needs to start stepping up and bringing home some dough, one insider detailed:
“Meghan finally told Harry he needs to step up financially. She’s driving the business deals, managing the brand, and thinking about the future. She’s tired of feeling like the only one focused on keeping the money flowing.”

The big problem is that since their 2020 royal exit, Harry has continued to operate as if he were still in the family — reportedly even taking part in unpaid work! Another source explained:
“Harry still approaches life like a royal. He wants purpose-driven work, while Meghan is looking at the numbers and asking how everything gets paid for.”
They have expensive private security to pay for and a fancy lifestyle to maintain, no wonder she’s stressed!
Also, insiders insisted that his inheritance is not the financial safety net many people assume it is. So if they want to keep up their luxe life in Montecito, Harry can’t keep working for free! One source said:
“Meghan didn’t sign up to carry the financial burden forever. She wants a partner who shares the responsibility and helps build the next chapter financially.”
But don’t read into this too much, folks. Another confidant added that the marriage remains strong despite this challenge:
“They love each other deeply. This isn’t about divorce or separation. It’s about Meghan pushing Harry to adapt to a world where they can’t rely on royal status or inherited wealth forever.”
Being estranged from his family and old way of life is obviously a massive change that continues to weigh on them, especially as it hasn’t been as easy as they predicted to make it in Hollywood, but it’s good to hear it’s not putting their marriage at risk — yet, anyway.
