The Braves are having a tough week (and it’s their own fault).
Pitching coach Roger McDowell is being accused of shouting homophobic comments before a game last weekend, and now pitcher Derek Lowe has been charged with drunken driving.
Lowe was stopped at around 10 PM on Thursday in Atlanta. When the cop smelled alcohol on his breath, he administered a field sobriety test — which Lowe failed. He was then arrested.
The team released a statement:
“Obviously we are concerned and disappointed about the events involving Derek Lowe overnight. We are currently gathering information and plan to address this matter later today.”
Ugh, we are sick of professional athletes being so irresponsible!
