The first federal announcement on AIDS took place 30 years ago this week, and we still are fighting to make sense of the disease.
BUT, we are much closer than we were back then.
“Do not forget, we had not seen a new virus in the blood supply in 30 years, so these were all disturbingly new concepts,” said Dr. Harvey Klein, a researcher with the National Institute of Health.
Currently, more than 1 million people in the US have AIDS, and around 20% don’t know they have it.
So get tested. For real.
And in the meantime, support AIDS research.
