Kevin Pearce Back On The Slopes After Brain Damage

Kevin Pearce Back On The Slopes After Brain Damage

Kevin Pearce Snowboarding Again
It’s been two years, but Kevin Pearce is finally back snowboarding after taking on brain damage from an accident.
The well-known boarder decided to get back in his bindings almost two years to the day of the accident that gave him brain damage.

“It felt so good. It just feels so much like before. There’s nothing really new for me that I have to relearn, so that was nice. I’m really in the right state to be snowboarding right now.”

He was actually training for the olympics on Christmas Eve in 2009 when a stunt went wrong. He had to go through so much tough rehab to get back on the slopes.
He even had eye surgery just in November:

“Even though my eyes are a lot better now, they’re not perfect, so I have been doing exercises with them. And I’ve been in the gym, working out. I’ve been getting everything together and working on my balance. A brain injury is always a brain injury, and unfortunately I’m always going to be a brain-injured kid.”

Well we’re just so happy you’re able to do what you love again! That’s the most positive thing to happen, and we’re glad it didn’t traumatize you and that you still love snowboarding.
Just be super careful — we’d rather not have a repeat, as we love seeing you out there!
