Obesity Affects How The Brain Works

Obesity BRains
Obesity can actually change and affect your brain.
Pair that with the fact that over a third of American adults are obese, and we may have some serious brain issues going on!
Here’s what happens:
Obesity changes the hypothalamus. This area of the brain, which is about the size of the almond, helps control hunger and thirst. It also helps regulate body temperature and sleep. Which means that if it isn’t working correctly, people can feel hungry or thirsty even when they’ve had plenty!!
Not only that, but they hypothalamus can be inflamed, too!

High-fat diets have been known to promote inflammation throughout the body, but that usually takes weeks or months to appear. Changes in the brain, however, can happen fast—even within 24 hours.

Scary!
Get on those resolutions, guys! Save yourselves!
