Ricky Gervais has recently announced his support for the WSPA’s Collars Not Cruelty campaign.
All over the world, thousands of stray dogs are killed due to the fear of the spread of rabies.
Collars Not Cruelty vaccinates stray dogs then marks them with a red collar so that people know the dog is safe.
Ricky said:
“Right now, WSPA is working to protect millions of dogs around the world that are being killed because of the fear of rabies ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ it doesn├óΓé¼Γäót have to be this way.
In fact, vaccination is the only way to stop the spread of this deadly disease. WSPA vaccinates the dogs and puts a red collar on them, showing the communities that they are safe – saving them from cruel, painful deaths.
I support this vital effort, standing with WSPA to ask governments and communities everywhere to choose collars ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ not cruelty ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ in the fight against rabies.”
The WSPA is also going to host a global, virtual dog march.
100,000 dogs will be let loose across the Internet on January 24th.
People can participate by “collaring” one of the dogs in the event.
Ricky said:
“You can stand with us, too, by signing up to the world├óΓé¼Γäós biggest Virtual Dog March.
Name and collar a dog online and let him run with thousands of others on Jan. 24 to help spread the word and celebrate this lifesaving work. Collar a dog, spread the word, help save a life. It├óΓé¼Γäós as simple as that.”
