Now this is the sort of national pride we can get behind!!!
Dogs native to the British Isles are seeing a resurgence in popularity as more and more dog owners are switching back to the breeds.
Recently, dog owners had shunned native breeds for more exotic pets, like a Siberian husky or a chihuahua.
Now, English setters, English toy terriers, and Sussex spaniels have all seen significant increases in registration!
Unfortunately, the bump has not been seen in all of Britain’s native pooches. The otterhound and Skye terrier are still in decline and these two breeds are even at risk for extinction!
NOOOOOO…that won’t do at all!!!!
Currently, the Labrador Retriever is the most popular breed in England.
Let’s get the otterhound and Skye terrier breeds up there too!
