NO ONE should have to go through this!
Over the weekend Rick Santorum stopped kissing babies in Florida to go be with his own at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
The senator’s 3-year-old daughter, Bella, who has a rare, life-threatening genetic disorder called Trisomy 18, was hospitalized on Saturday. Most children diagnosed with Trisomy 18 die before their first birthday. So sad!
Santorum’s 20-year-old daughter, Liz, appeared on his behalf in Sarasota, giving a brief speech saying:
“My dad wishes he could be here with all of you today. My dad today is exercising his most important role; being a dad.”
In the past the Presidential hopeful has talked about how he never expected his youngest child to live to her first birthday.
No matter how you feel about Rick’s politics, you’ve gotta feel for him as a father!
