Sometimes a dress is better left in the decade from whence it came.
Like this Karl Lagerfeld-designed Chloe violin dress from 1983 that Chloe Sevigny wore to the brand’s 60th anniversary celebration at Barneys New York on Wednesday.
The side cut-outs seem too wide and the embroidered violin at center is just distracting.
Perhaps if the scale of these details was smaller, the outfit would’ve worked, but as it stands, it’s not knocking us out with its brilliance or anything.
Her side-swept bangs and strappy Chloe heels are cute, which is something we couldn’t say about her last look.
Do U like this musical number???
