Even your toilet-clogging, crazy antics on the set of Scary Movie 5 couldn’t generate it enough buzz to put it at the top of the box office for its opening weekend!
Instead, the distinct honor went to the critically-acclaimed Jackie Robinson bio-pic 42, when came in number one after making an estimated $27.3 million between Friday and today!
And that’s pretty impressive in itself, seeing as the majority of movie-goers paying to see the flick were over the age of 25!
To be fair to Scary Movie 5, however, we’re pretty sure everyone else below that age went to see the fifth installment of the horror movie parody franchise, as it managed to secure itself the #2 position, with $15.2 million.
Even that, however, wasn’t enough to make back its production cost of $19.5 million! OUCH!
