Aww! Don’t sell yourselves short, boyz!
Fall Out Boy‘s long-awaited album, Save Rock And Roll, looks like a critical and commercial success, which is a surprise to lead singer/guitarist Patrick Stump!
He revealed today that he wasn’t sure how well the band’s reunion would work out; he certainly never expected so much love from his still super-supportive fans!
He admits:
“Not in a million years [did I expect this]. As I’m writing this, we have the number one album on iTunes and the number ten single. For a band that felt like a longshot the first time we got struck by career lightning to go away for a few years and sell records against powerhouses like Justin Timberlake … If we expected to succeed on this scale? We’d be a–holes.”
Whoa!! No need to bring Justin Timberlake into all of this, LOLz!!
Unless FOB plans to team-up with JT on their next album!!
Then again, Patrick is happy working with his bestie Pete Wentz!
He revealed:
“Over the years, working through my own ego and all that, I’ve arrived at the understanding that Pete’s one of my favorite lyricists of our generation. Writing songs with his words is an amazing experience now that I’m mature enough to appreciate it. And holy smokes do I appreciate it. Getting this record out is a total joy.”
Well, sure, Pete writes sweet lyrics, but nobody pulls off a Suit & Tie like Justin! Ha!
