Comfort Dogs Help Grief-Stricken Bostonians

Comfort Dogs
Boston is currently still recovering after the awful bombing that happened during the city’s marathon on Monday.
People from all over are pitching in to help, though some non-people are helping out too.
That’s right, comfort dogs trained by the Lutheran Church Charities are now in the city, helping those affected by the awful tragedy.
Three golden retrievers were flown into the city from their home of Addison, Illinois. They joined two other retrievers who were already on the east coast.
The president of the Lutheran Church Charities, who trained the dogs, said:

“People talk to the dogs ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ they’re like furry counselors. It’s a chance to help bring some relief to people that are shaken up because of the bombings. They bring a calming effect to people and help them process the various emotions that they go through in times like this.”

Thank goodness for people who train these dogs and for the doggies themselves!
The service pups will remain in Boston through the end of the week and they’ll be visiting area hospitals soon too.
Way to go, comfort dogs!!
