Randy Travis Gets Heart Device, Is Still In Critical Condition

As an update to our clarification that Randy Travis had NOT yet had his heart surgery, we’re now hearing from CBS that he’s had a device implanted into his heart to keep it pumping, and that he’s still in critical condition.

As a reminder, Randy was hospitalized on Sunday, and is currently being treated for viral cardiomyopathy — an infection that weakens the heart and can lead to heart failure. It’s not a good situation to be in at all, and we can only hope for the best at this point.

To make matters worse, this seems to be a common family problem.

Music wouldn’t be the same without Randy! We hope he makes it through!
