What better way to promote a movie about an entire population STARVING, having to put their youth into murderous combat in order to get more food… than to partner up with someone that sells food at a reasonable price and is everywhere??
LOLz!
That’s exactly what Hunger Games is doing, as the next installment (Catching Fire) has just teamed up with Subway for a new promotional campaign!
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire promises “promotional assets” through Subway for in store, online, and more.
The promise is a line of products:
“with thematic ties to the film, along with specially marked packaging with codes encouraging customers to engage online for their chance to win prizes. Subway customers can also pose with their favorite character’s standees in the restaurants and are invited to share photos on social media for additional chances to win.”
This sounds like, oh we don’t know, exactly EVERY OTHER promotional thing Subway has done! LOLz!
It DOES make a little more sense than we’re all thinking, though. One of the character’s name is Peeta, which is a type of bread, and Subway uses bread! It ALL MAKES SENSE!
Here’s what Subway said:
“There’s nothing hotter than ‘The Hunger Games’ franchise. Being able to deliver exclusive ‘Catching Fire’ experiences to our Subway fans is something that Hunger Games enthusiasts can’t find anywhere else.”
Nothing says children murdering each other under an oppressive government like subs!
Here’s the best part, though, and one we can’t really make jokes about: the promotional campaign will also support Feeding America which runs 200 food banks in the United States! That’s awesome, no matter how you swing it!
The campaign is supposed to begin in mid October at the earliest, way before the movie’s end-of-November release date!
We have no complaints as long as we get to see Liam Hemsworth‘s face as we put a lot of meat in our mouths! HA!
