What a huge bummer — at least he’s recovering!
Crime writer and legend, Elmore Leonard, has suffered a stroke, unfortunately. It happened about a week ago, and he’s still in a Detroit hospital, even though he’s on the mend. One of the staffers updates his condition, saying:
“Elmore had a stroke; it happened a week ago, last Monday. He’s doing better every day, and the family is guardedly optimistic. He’s showing great spirit. He’s a fighter, and we’re glad to see that. He’s very much into his 46th novel working very hard.”
At 87, we’re so glad that his recovery is optimistic! Also, holy craaaap — 46 novels! That’s INSANE!!
He’s had a lot of his work turned into movies, and one of the most recent ones turned into a show you might know called Justified, which was based on a novella he wrote — and he loved the show so much that he wrote an entire followup novel!
We hope he gets better real soon!!
