No, this isn’t about some weird law about not wearing pants like how women are allowed to go topless in NYC.
A staple for hungover hipsters everywhere is the bottomless mimosa brunch, which is a magical thing.
Who doesn’t want 8 glasses of champagne and orange juice (with a splash of pineapple if you really know how to live) with their greasy eggs and french toast meal with a side of extra crispy bacon?
The problem is the State Liquor Authority has a law (not some new law, but an old one already on the books) that says bars and restaurants are breaking the law if they’re:
“[…] selling, serving, delivering or offering to patrons an unlimited number of drinks during any set period of time for a fixed price.”
Oh no!!! What will NY restaurants do now??
Offer $1 mimosas instead?
Hmm, yeah… yeah, that could totally work.
We guess all you NY lushes can stop complaining now.
If there’s one thing prohibition taught us it’s that no matter what the law is, people will always find a way to get drunk. Myeah, shee?
