SXSW Fatal Crash Claims Third Victim

sxsw crash third victim dead
Sad news from Austin.
The SXSW crash has officially claimed another victim.
After Rashad Charjuan Owens allegedly struck 25 people at the music festival with his car as he attempted to evade police, two people were declared dead on the scene with several severe injuries reported.
We’re sad to say 26-year-old Sandy Thuy Le has succumbed to her injuries and is the third casualty of the tragedy, joining Jamie West and Steven Craenmehr.
Sandy died surrounded by her loved ones. Her brother-in-law Stuart Gates mourned her, saying:

“She had very a carefree attitude about life, extremely genuine and extremely giving. She got more out of 26 years than most people will in a lifetime.”

So sad. One more victim of the crash remains in critical condition. We are sending our prayers.
Accused driver Owens’ blood alcohol level at the time of the crash has now been reported as .114, well over the legal limit.
We can only hope that no one else has to lose someone because of his horrific action.
