Lorde Finally Meets The Inspiration Behind Royals! It's A 60-Year-Old Baseball Player! Say Whatttt?

Lorde finally got to meet her inspiration for her hit song Royals... you won't believe who it really is!
Lorde must be so happy, celebrating a big milestone like this!
She finally has met the source of her inspiration behind her Grammy-winning hit Royals.
If you don’t know the story, it might come as a bit of a surprise to learn the inspiration behind Royals is 60-year-old baseball player named George Brett.
Well, it’s specifically about a picture of him in a 1976 issue of National Geographic.
When she was a young teen in New Zealand, Lorde came across photographer Ted Spiegel’s photo of George Brett wearing his Kansas City Royals jersey, surrounded by people looking for autographs.
Lorde originally hoped to meet him back in March but it fell through. The Kansas City Royals did send her an autographed Brett jersey at least.
Her wish finally came true when she got to meet him in person, with MLB’s twitter sharing a pic (above) of the two and writing:

“And now you’re Royal. @lordemusic meets @Royals icon George Brett.”

That’s so amazing! They look so happy to be meeting each other.
Imagine, a photograph stole the fame/soul of George Brett, trapped it in a magazine, then Lorde released it and took in that fame, launching her own music career.
It’s very spiritual and scientific stuff. LOLz!
Congrats on finally meeting your inspiration, Lorde!
