Game Of Thrones has enthralled millions of TV viewers since its debut, and brought a lot of new readers to the books.
But there’s a little snag- the novel series is a LOT slower than the TV show. The most recent installment of A Song Of Ice And Fire took five years to complete, and it’s been three years since that one.
The long waits have some fans speculating that author George R.R. Martin won’t even survive long enough to finish the planned heptalogy (that’s like a trilogy but with 7 books- we totes had to look it up!).
Well, George himself has finally reacted to these morbid naysayers. And it’s as harsh (and NSFW) as a Westeros wedding! He says:
“I find that question pretty offensive, frankly, when people start speculating about my death and my health. So fuck you to those people.”
He then added:
“You think I won’t kill another character you love? Try me, fools! Arya- dead! Jon Snow- dead! Khaleesi- dead! Muah ha ha ha ha!”
OK, he didn’t really say that last part.
But srsly guys, let the man tell his story in his own time. Sadly, sudden death is always a possibility no matter what the author’s age.
All we can do is wish the man good health and pray he doesn’t piss off any Lannisters.
