Who doesn’t want to meet the celeb they totally idolize?!
Well, meet and greets don’t always go as expected when the unexpected happens, which is exactly the case in this misunderstanding for a fan who recently met Ariana Grande at an MTV, Pepsi, and VH1-sponsored event.
A story from a young girl just came out about once meeting Ariana back in 2011 at another event, and she couldn’t have had a better experience as she got to meet her idol and take pics with her.
But fastforward to this August when the young girl met Ariana again in connection with the MTV VMAs. She won a contest and took her sister with her to meet Ariana at the L.A. Forum in Inglewood after producing art showing just how much she loves Ari.
Unfortunately, the girls weren’t too happy with the outcome of the meeting. They claim they were kept waiting before meeting with employees at MTV who asked the fans to tape a reaction to meeting Ariana before they met her.
When Ariana made her way to the fans, they claim she was icy, seemed uninterested in being there, and had a handful of assistants with her. The young girl says fans were then told rules about meeting Ariana which included that they were to give all gifts to her security and not her, and that they were only allowed to take a selfie with her. The young fan says Ariana only met them for a matter of seconds before running off.
HOWEVER, on the other hand is Ariana’s side of the story. And an explanation about WHY she ran off that anyone could sympathize with.
The picture the young fan drew in order to win the contest was one of Ariana and her grandfather (above). And since Ari recently lost her grandfather, the pain is still there and it wasn’t something she was ready to deal with├óΓé¼┬ªespecially so unexpectedly.
In a series of DMs with a fan, which Ariana’s team have EXCLUSIVELY confirmed to be real, the singer explains why she left the meet and greet so abruptly. She ALSO revealed that she planned to send the young fan a letter, but had missed her by the time she was ready to go back and see her.
No doubt Ariana loves her fans. And anyone who has lost a loved one can understand that having to revisit that loss so suddenly would be hard.
