If you follow football at all or care about LGBT issues even a little, there’s a good chance you’ve heard about Michael Sam.
He’s professional football’s first openly gay player and his road to the NFL hasn’t been an easy one.
At first, Sam was practicing with the St. Louis Rams, and it seemed like he might’ve found his home.
Then he was cut from their roster and not picked up by their practice squad.
Well looks like Sam’s luck has changed! According to multiple reports he is now set to sign with the Dallas Cowboys!!
That’s pretty incredible, especially seeing as how he’s a Texas native and grew up a Cowboys fan!
Don’t get too excited yet, if Sam does sign with the Cowboys, he’d be on the practice squad, not the active roster. So it might be a while before he actually gets in a game.
Regardless, we’re so happy things seem to be looking up for this young man!
