Body Cam Footage Of Tony Romo's OWI Arrest Released

The video of Tony Romo‘s arrest is here!

As we previously reported, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback was taken into custody in Milwaukee last week for an OWI, operating a vehicle while under the influence, after performing poorly during the field sobriety tests when he was pulled over. There weren’t many details about the arrest when the news broke, but the entire body cam footage of the bust has now been released!

According to a video obtained by TMZ on Wednesday, after Tony got stopped for unsafely “passing on the right” and “cutting across the gore,” he told the police on July 23 that he had left a golf tournament and was on the way to see his grandmother and grandfather. The cop then asked how many drinks the 46-year-old athlete had, to which he replied, “Zero.”

When the officer informed him to step out of the vehicle to perform field sobriety tests, Tony asked to call his attorney. However, she told him no and ordered him to get out of the car once again. He eventually complied, and the officer told him he was being detained pending an OWI investigation. Since they were on a bridge, the cop said they needed to move to another location to carry out the tests. She then placed Tony in handcuffs and put him in the back of the patrol car.

Later, the footage shows Tony at the police station, where the officer explained to him that he is under investigation for an OWI because he had “red, glassy eyes and the odor of an intoxicating alcoholic beverage from your breath.” She also revealed they found “a few shooters” during a search of his backpack, which he denied drinking any of them. Tony then underwent several field sobriety tests, and cops claimed he performed poorly.

Ultimately, the sports analyst was arrested for an OWI. Court records showed he was also cited for refusing to take an intoxicated test, which now means he could lose his license for a year. In the bodycam footage, you can see the moment he refused to take the test and demanded a lawyer instead. Additionally, He could be slapped with a fine ranging from $150 to $300 since this is his first arrest. TMZ reported Tony has since requested a hearing to challenge the citation.
