NFL Star Running Back Adrian Peterson Released On Bond After He Voluntarily Turns Himself In For Child Abuse Charges!

nfl star running back adrian peterson released on bond after he voluntarily turns himself in for child abuse charges
This is awful!
NFL running back Adrian Peterson, who we previously reported had been indicted by a Texas grand jury on child abuse charges, was voluntarily booked into jail and posted bail after a warrant for his arrest was announced.
Peterson was reportedly booked into Montgomery County jail at 1:06 a.m. CT and subsequently released 30 minutes later once he posted a $15,000 bond.
The star Minnesota Vikings running back is believed to have struck and injured his 11-year-old son with a “switch” and the running back’s lawyer released a statement that it was an “unintentional” injury.
Here’s what his lawyer Rusty Hardin said:

“Adrian Peterson has been informed that he was indicted by a grand jury in Montgomery County, Texas for Injury to a Child. The charged conduct involves using a switch to spank his son. This indictment follows Adrian’s full cooperation with authorities who have been looking into this matter. Adrian is a loving father who used his judgment as a parent to discipline his son. He used the same kind of discipline with his child that he experienced as a child growing up in east Texas. Adrian has never hidden from what happened. He has cooperated fully with authorities and voluntarily testified before the grand jury for several hours. Adrian will address the charges with the same respect and responsiveness he has brought to this inquiry from its beginning. It is important to remember that Adrian never intended to harm his son and deeply regrets the unintentional injury.”

Well, if he was disciplining his son with a “switch” we can’t honestly say the injury was that unintentional! Although we’re sure he “deeply regrets” his actions now!
The Vikings have deactivated the player for this Sunday’s game, and many believe the running back will be missing a lot more games once the punishment is doled out. The team said in a statement:

“The Vikings are in the process of gathering information regarding the legal situation involving Adrian Peterson. At this time, we will defer further questions to Adrian’s attorney Rusty Hardin.”

We can’t believe Peterson would do something like this – especially after he lost his 2-year-old son less than a year ago from injuries after the boy’s mother’s boyfriend beat the child up.
We hope Adrian’s 11-year-old son is OK, and that Adrian Peterson is given a punishment worthy of this despicable crime.
Something like this is unacceptable!!!
