Uh-oh, this new information about binge drinking is seriously scary!
Researchers from the University of Missouri have concluded that drinking to excess can change your genes FOREVER.
Scientists have discovered that binge drinking messes up proteins called histones in your liver, which is a BIG problem because histones are responsible for organizing the strands of your DNA. So, once alcohol changes the histones, your body changes how it reads and interprets your DNA. When your body can’t recognize you liver cells correctly, that’s when your liver can start to do damage to other organs in your body.

The researchers already tested their theory on lab rats and they’re more than confident that excessive drinking is disastrous for DNA.
