It’s not a true holiday party without some sparkle, but you don’t have to be covered in sequins like a disco ball to accomplish this trend.
At Jingle Ball on December 5, Taylor Swift showed how to strike a perfect balance with glitz in her strapless dress with textured gold skirt and a plain black bodice.

Red is another traditional hue for holiday dressing, and especially great for anybody who really wants to stand out!
Reese Witherspoon wore a gorgeous embroidered red A-line frock to an event back in early October, but she was clearly already in the holiday spirit then!
Our find from Modcloth.com isn’t exactly the same, but it has a similar festive feel thanks to the bright color and pretty rosettes decorating it throughout.

Kate Middleton‘s black lace dress that she wore for a dinner party in New York on December 8 is as classy and elegant as it gets!
We found a similar, though shorter, version from Forever21.com that features three-quarter lace sleeves and a fitted silhouette.
