The gesture doesn’t come as a huge surprise considering Swift announced her charitable plan on The View back in October. The singer attributed her admirable decision to the deep connection she feels towards the Big Apple, her new home since March 2014.
A spokesperson for the schools said in a statement:

“We’re deeply appreciative of this kind gesture to donate her proceeds of the single ├óΓé¼╦£Welcome to New York’ to benefit NYC public schools.”

Aww our hearts are so full!
The spokesperson went on to add that Swift will continue to donate all future proceeds which makes the whole deal even sweeter!
We’re so excited for NYCPBS! Thanks for your donation, Taylor!
But wait, there are MANY more charitable celebs in Tinsel Town…
