Was The Next Bachelorette Changed From Caila To JoJo At The Last Minute?? See The Producer's Seeming Confirmation!

This is quite an interesting coincidence…
JoJo Fletcher is all set to be the next Bachelorette, as we reported earlier this week, but it now appears that was a decision made at truly the last minute — and at the expense of Caila Quinn!

The Bachelor franchise allegedly was all set to go with Caila after running some screen tests with her several weeks ago, including a full Bachelorette intro package, until they decided late in the process to go with JoJo!
Showrunner Mike Fleiss tweeted some interesting things last week that — now looking back on it — may have leaked that decision to go away from their initial diverse choice (Caila is Filipino) and instead choose the southerner, JoJo.
It all had to do with food (below):

After 5 years of BBQ chicken as our Night One dinner, I’m thinking of mixing things up this year. Maybe a little Thai food… Yum!

Seems innocuous, right?!
Well, Fleiss did say he was going to be tweeting Bachelorette spoilers and other behind the scenes info… so could this be a metaphor for his decision between JoJo and Caila?!

After JoJo was announced, Fleiss wrote:

I chickened out and went with BBQ chicken. If it ain’t broke… #Bachelorette

Inneresting…
“If it ain’t broke,” is sort of how Fleiss probably sees The Bachelorette, a show that has taken heat from viewers about its general lack of diversity, but nevertheless has thus far remained committed to its, um, very lily-white look.
And JoJo being from the south, BBQ… it pretty much fits!
