With Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising about to hit theaters, it’s no wonder Chlo├â┬½ Grace Moretz is on the front page of a slew of magazines right now!
Of course, it also doesn’t hurt that the teen starlet is super interesting and insightful, shedding even more light on those comments she made after Kim Kardashian West posted her nude, but censored selfie, for one.

Speaking with Glamour for their June issue, CGM again revealed exactly why she spoke out in the first place:
“I had just gotten off a plane from South Korea, I was incredibly jet-lagged, and I couldn’t take one more thing. I saw that photo, and I had to say something. That picture wasn’t linked to body confidence. It wasn’t a #BodyConfidence or #LoveWhoYouAre. It was done in a slightly voyeuristic light, which I felt was a little inappropriate for young women to see. ├óΓé¼┬ª I would hate for young women to feel they need to post certain photos in order to gain likes, retweets, favorites, and male attention.├óΓé¼┬ª I wasn’t slut-shaming. It’s not about body shaming.”
And the 19-year-old continued, sharing her reaction when the reality TV starlet called her out:
“I started laughing. I was at dinner with my family [when] I got the notification [on my phone]. I look at it and I go, ‘Oh my God. She responded.’ My mom took the most offense to it because it was girl-on-girl hate and Kim didn’t come back with an educated response on body confidence. It was aggressive, and also it was incorrect. I don’t have 45 million followers or a TV show that follows my life. But people know who I am. I pride myself on having opinions, and I don’t express them in snarky ways toward people.”
ICYMI: Kim wrote, “let’s all welcome @ChloeGMoretz to twitter, since no one knows who she is. your nylon cover is cute boo.” And it wasn’t much later that she posted an essay on her site to take a stand against her haters.
Chloë remarked:
“I think that was interesting. I wish that it had come out earlier. It was a great message; it was just a little late.”
But the young star also realizes how the bikini shots she shares on social media might come off as hypocritical, explaining the difference:
“I do it because it’s a body-confidence thing. I posted one in Mexico. I felt good, and I was wearing a bikini on a beach. It wasn’t me sexualizing myself. It was with a beautiful background. When I posted it, I knew that there would be a lot of young women looking. So I made sure that it was tasteful├óΓé¼┬ª. I get called prudish…. I get called names for not showing myself off.”
Sounds like the actress is sticking to her guns on this whole debate!
She’s definitely not afraid to speak her mind, which she continued to prove as she seemingly shaded Taylor Swift while talking people that push her buttons:
“One who appropriates bad gender stereotypes, appropriates a lot of exclusivity, is very rich and niche-y. Or someone who overtly tries to be normal, when that’s the opposite of who I know they are.”
Chlo├â┬½ didn’t name names, but considering she’s previously spoken about turning down a spot in Swifty’s squad, it’s not a far-fetched guess.
Read on for even more of her thoughts…
On feminism: “The word feminism meant something very different when I was 13. I had four older brothers and a single mom, and we were providing for each other├óΓé¼┬ª. It was a collective effort between men and women. So for me, it was about familial equality… I was uneducated on the word feminism because I wasn’t an adult in a lot of ways. I hadn’t dealt with the amount of adversity that I deal with now, especially in business. I’ve traveled more. I’ve been part of different cultures and [heard about] what it means to be a minority young woman in this country and other countries. I’ve read more, experienced more. It’s kind of an evolution. So now, for me, feminism means equality for people of all genders, races, and economic situations. But at the same time, I never really thought that feminism was about hating men; I was afraid that people would view me that way. On people’s perception of the word: “The word feminism, right now, is super polarizing. I started realizing this when I got on the campaign trail for Hillary Clinton. I’m constantly meeting young women who say, ‘I do want to vote for Hillary, and I think it would be really great for her to be our president, but I’m afraid that if I vote for Hillary, young men aren’t going to look at me the way they would have looked at me before.'”
On her dad leaving when she was only a kid: “I was 12. It was a pretty bad experience├óΓé¼┬ª. It could have rocked our family and messed us up, but it actually made us a lot tighter. My brothers bumped up into the roles of fathers and kept me in a bubble where I could live in a world that wasn’t jaded and ruined... I don’t think I will truly find a way to forgive; the things that he did are unforgivable├óΓé¼┬ª. My forgiveness is that I’m living my life.”
On keeping her dating life private: “Because it’s no one’s business. These moments are supposed to be so personal and special├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥you’re building a foundation with someone or just having fun and going on a date. No one needs to know about that, and I hate to see that stuff broadcast on TV.”
Can you believe she’s still a teenager? CGM sounds way more mature than some of the stars twice her age!
Do U agree with her??
