Over the weekend, Donald Trump put a spotlight on Sweden during his Florida campaign rally by making comments about a terrorist attack that never happened.
Lamenting about recent attacks abroad, the president referenced an incident that occurred “last night in Sweden” — later clarifying he was referring to a Friday night Fox News report on the Nordic country’s immigration issues.
And you better believe this snafu was gobbled up by late night hosts on Monday night like a bag of Swedish fish!

On Late Night‘s “A Closer Look”, Seth Meyers showed a clip of a Swedish reporter saying people there were “making jokes,” and pointed out how bad things are going under Trump that we’re “getting roasted by Swedes.”
Stephen Colbert took a much darker route on The Late Show, playing a in memoriam segment for Sweden as “the third not-a-terrorist attack” in the past month, following the Bowling Green Massacre and Atlanta. Sad!
