Iran Wins Best Foreign Film At The 2017 Oscars -- But The Director Didn't Show In Protest Of Trump's Travel Ban!

We had a feeling this year’s ever-political Oscars would culminate during the Best Foreign Language Film category!
Donald Trump once again found his way into Sunday’s show when Iran won the award for The Salesman — and the director didn’t show up to collect the award.
Filmmaker Asghar Farhadi boycotted the ceremony due to Trump’s travel ban, proving that you can keep a country out but you can’t stop them from making great art!
Iranian-American space tourist Anousheh Ansari accepted the award on his behalf, speaking Farhadi’s words through a powerful letter about the “inhumane law” that creates fear by “dividing the world into the ├óΓé¼╦£us’ and ├óΓé¼╦£our enemies.'”
She continued with the letter, which called the ban “a deceitful justification for regression, and war.” If POTUS didn’t change the channel yet, we have a feeling he did after this!
