Jimmy Kimmel poured his heart out about his newborn son’s heart surgery on Monday night. (In case you haven’t seen the moving story, it’s a must watch you can find HERE.)
But the thoughtful host made sure this wasn’t just about being grateful for Billy Kimmel‘s recovery.

The ABC star took a moment to point out how seeing this firsthand was a wakeup call about the healthcare debate in our country. He said simply at one point:
“If your baby is going to die, and it doesn’t have to, it should not matter how much money you make.”
So true.
And we weren’t the only ones watching who thought so. President Barack Obama tweeted:
Well said, Jimmy. That’s exactly why we fought so hard for the ACA, and why we need to protect it for kids like Billy. And congratulations! https://t.co/77F8rZrD3P

And Hillary Clinton also saw the story and wrote:
Watch & prepare to tear up. Thanks @jimmykimmel for sharing your story & reminding us what’s at stake w/health care.https://t.co/2kTEeUEG2f

Of course, as much as the politics ARE personal in this case, many simple wanted to share their love for Jimmy, Molly McNearney, and the brave little guy.
