A team meeting is in order…
As we reported, gymnast Aly Raisman opened up about the alleged abuse she suffered from USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar.
Sadly, many brought up her nude photoshoot for ESPN‘s Body Issue in response. So on Friday, the Olympian posted a message on Twitter blasting the victim shamers, especially those who criticize women for dressing in a “sexy” manner.

However, not everyone was supportive of Raisman’s post.
That same day, former teammate Gabby Douglas countered saying, “it is our responsibility as women to dress modestly and be classy,” as “dressing in a provocative/sexual way entices the wrong crowd.”
That’s when Simone Biles chimed in and defended Aly from Gabby’s attack. She posted Douglas’ deleted tweet along with the following message:
shocks me that I├óΓé¼Γäóm seeing this but it doesn├óΓé¼Γäót surprise me… honestly seeing this brings me to tears bc as your teammate I expected more from you & to support her. I support you Aly ├░┼╕ΓÇÖΓÇó & all the other women out there!

When questioned about her statement, Gabby first claimed she was “misunderstood,” and didn’t victim shame anyone. She also said she believed both men and women are responsible in sexual assault situations:
u misunderstood me. not blaming the victim at all. no man should look at any woman that way.

it goes both ways.

However, later on Friday, she backpedaled by tweeting:
i didn’t correctly word my reply & i am deeply sorry for coming off like i don’t stand alongside my teammates. regardless of what you wear, abuse under any circumstance is never acceptable. i am WITH you. #metoo
