The next time you hear someone refer to Kanye West as a self-centered egomaniac, tell them this story.
Apparently the Gold Digger rapper was contacted by a family around New Year’s Day who had been trying to get in touch for some time.
Their pre-teen daughter was dying of cancer, and her final wish was to have Yeezy rap a song for her. When Kanye heard, he immediately jumped on FaceTime to spend some time with the superfan.

And it wasn’t for the story either. The reason we’re only hearing about it nearly a week later is because a family acquaintance shared on Twitter — Kanye never did.

Before you cynics out there dismiss the story, Kim Kardashian West actually confirmed it a few days later, tweeting:

Afterward TMZ looked into the story and found out, sadly, the young girl died just hours after getting her wish.
