The survivors of the Parkland, Florida shooting have had enough of your thoughts and prayers.
Instead, they’re demanding that legislators to step up to the plate and put nationwide safety before their own political careers.
Students who survived last week’s shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School headed to Florida’s state Capital on Wednesday to meet with state lawmakers and speak at a press conference.

The passionate speeches included students recounting the horrifying massacre that claimed the lives of 17 people, along with their subsequent meetings with lawmakers that only left them more discouraged.
Even more frustrating was the fact that just a day before the press conference, the Florida state House rejected a ban on many semiautomatic guns and large capacity magazines.
Now, these kids are rightfully pissed — and their voices are making a huge impact on social media.
One student in particular, Delaney Tarr, has made waves on Twitter after giving a biting message to NRA-backed lawmakers. She said:
“We’ve had enough of thoughts and prayers├óΓé¼┬ª To every lawmaker out there: No longer can you take money from the NRA├óΓé¼┬ª We are coming after every single one of you and demanding that you take action. We know what we want. We want gun reform. We want common-sense gun laws. We want stronger mental health checks and background checks to work in conjunction.”
Wow. We want more gun reform speeches from Delaney! Hear her speech (below):

Another standout speaker was Lorenzo Prado, who’s version of events was different than most students because he was initially suspected of being the shooter.
Hear Lorenzo’s harrowing story of emerging from hiding to find six SWAT members pointing a gun at him (below):

He, too, has a message for politicians:

“If we are going to protect our future, why are none of us protecting our children?” student says. “The AR-15 is a senseless weapon that by default can shoot out over 600 rounds. It does not take 600 rounds to stop an intruder in your home.” https://t.co/Nn2QjsRD5R pic.twitter.com/iZnLFv6UcQ
