Hedley‘s Jacob Hoggard is stepping away from his career “indefinitely” following multiple sexual misconduct accusations.
On Wednesday, the frontman for the Canadian pop group took to Twitter to address the numerous allegations of sexual misconduct — including one claim of rape — that have been made against him. Although Hoggard defended that he “never engaged in non-consensual sexual behavior in [his] life,” he admitted to having “behaved in a way that objectified women.”

Man, oh man. Of course, Jacob’s decision has caused Hedley to announce their own “indefinite hiatus” after the completion of their current tour. The band wrote:

We can’t say we’re surprised to hear this, especially as Hedley was just dumped by their management firm. Not to mention, several radio programs have dropped Hedley from their respective airplay lineups. Oh, and the group was also pulled from performing at the upcoming Juno Awards.
Here’s hoping their time away from the spotlight allows each member of Hedley to gain some self introspection and insight. SMH…
