This may be a bit too far…
Melania Trump has been missing from the public eye for almost a month, leading many to come up with wild conspiracy theories about where she is or why she’s been keeping such a low profile.
Over the weekend, Rolling Stone senior writer Jamil Smith suggested that the reason is to possibly conceal signs of domestic violence at the hands of Donald Trump. Considering the allegations in the past against POTUS, it’s hard for people to say without pause that this is nothing more than a completely outrageous suggestion.

The journalist proposed on Twitter:
I wish that I didn’t suspect that the prolonged, poorly explained public absence of Melania Trump could be about concealing abuse. I wish that it was a ludicrous prospect. I wish that the @POTUS wasn’t a man with a history of abusing women, including those to whom he is married.

Smith wrote this speculation without providing any hard evidence for why he would think domestic violence is involved. For that reason, many commenters think his tweet is reckless.
But Trump’s own record — admitting to assaulting women and even being accused of rape by his first wife — has made others agree.
