Lamar Odom wants us to know that he is safe!
As you know, we previously reported that gunshots were fired while Khloé Kardashian‘s ex and friends were at a Hooters in Queens, New York on July 20.
According to People, one NYPD public information officer confirmed the alleged shootout did happen, and shared a few more details about what went down.

As the 38-year-old athlete was eating at one of the outdoor tables with friends, shots were fired by members of one group before they fled the scene, the officer confirms. No clear description is available of these group members.
But fans can breathe a sigh of relief now that we’ve heard from Odom himself, and he’s okay. Here’s the statement that was posted on the NBA star’s Instagram Tuesday afternoon:

The officer also echoed the statement above that although Odom was there, he wasn’t the intended target or involved in the altercation. We’ll keep you guys posted with updates as the investigation is still underway.
