Rosie Weighs In On Jay And Conan - And It's Hefty!

Rosie O’Donnell believes that Jay Leno should step down from NBC and let Conan O’Brien carry on with The Tonight Show saying:

“If you’re privileged enough to drive the bus, you should say, ‘Thank you’ and drive it to the best of your ability, and when it’s time for them to hire a new driver, you should say ‘Thank you for allowing me to drive this as long as I did’ and pass the keys to the new guy with red hair, and not try to flatten his tires before he even gets going.”

Agreed!

Rosie also revealed that when Jay started on The Tonight Show back in the early ’90s she was offered by NBC exec Brandon Tartikoff to sub in for Leno on Friday nights like Joan Rivers did for Johnny Carson.

But Leno put the kibosh on that deal because he didn’t want to take any days off, infuriating Rosie and rightly so!

Sounds like Jay has been pretty selfish for most of his career — which is probably why nobody in the industry seems to care for him much!

Aside from Jeff Zucker of course.
